The AGBU Silicon Valley Chapter, established since 1960 in the technological capital of the world, proactively promotes collaboration between Silicon Valley institutions and the technology sector in Armenia, disseminates educational technologies, and locally represents the Armenian General Benevolent Union, the world’s largest non-profit organization devoted to upholding the Armenian heritage through educational, cultural and humanitarian programs, and. Through its local and global activities, AGBU is committed to making a difference in the lives of 500,000 people each year across Armenia, Artsakh and the Armenian diaspora. Since 1906, AGBU has remained true to one overarching goal: to create a foundation for the prosperity of all Armenians.
Armenian Virtual College (AVC)
The Armenian Virtual College (AVC) is an accredited Armenian online educational institution sponsored by the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) to facilitate learning through advanced technologies. Launched in 2009, AVC multimedia courses, online webinars, virtual communities and interactive e-books are open to anyone interested in topics related to Armenian identity and prosperity. AVC offers virtual and hybrid classrooms for e-learners, who do not have access to traditional, face-to-face Armenian educational programs, while supplementing the curriculum for those who do. AVC’s mission is to build a virtual learning community that fosters education and social networks across the globe.
